Drug Court

Drug Court is designed to rehabilitate drug offenders, prevent recidivism and reunite families involved in dependency case.  Offenders who receive intensive, effective treatment are less likely to break the law in the future and that treatment is more effective when supported by the court’s authority.  Drug court is designed for non-violent defendants with substance-abuse addictions.  Violent offenders, drug dealers, those with mental health issues and those that have previously absconded from supervision are not eligible for drug court.  Offenders who are accepted go through an intensive three phase process that includes treatment, counseling, group sessions, constant monitoring through urinalysis and frequent appearances before the Drug Court Judge.
