Whitley Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison

The Office of State Attorney Larry Basford announces that on April 13, 2021, Circuit Judge Christopher Patterson sentenced Jarquez Jerome Whitley to 8 years in prison for Aggravated Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer and to a consecutive 5 years in prison for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  The total sentence is 13 years in prison.  Whitley was previously found guilty of the crimes by a Bay County jury on March 23, 2021.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Peter Overstreet and Jacob Cook.
